White speckled stoneware tea cup hand thrown on the potter's wheel. The bisque then taken upstate New York to woodfire. 

Applied with a borate wash and ash powder, the tea cup was fired unglazed in the anagama chamber of the kiln. The woodfire was stoked continuously for 4 consecutive days followed by a week-long cooling period.

The small tea cup is metallic from the fire with burnt orange and dark green hues. Spots of melted ash from the smoke and flames are visible throughout. The color slightly varies dependent on the light.
