White speckled stoneware ashtray hand thrown on the potter's wheel and then taken upstate New York to woodfire.
Doubly functional as a match striker, the vessel was fired unglazed in the anagama chamber of the kiln.
This ashtray is the only one of it's kind and has green, metallic red and rust hues. The color and texture are a direct result of the ash, smoke and flames during the firing.
Measures 3 1/4" d x 1 5/8" h
